Join DCCF and Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health to make Douglas County the first county in Kansas to have 70% of our citizens fully vaccinated by
August 31!
If you are planning an event between now and August 31, 2021, you may be eligible to receive a grant award or sponsorship of up to $2,000 to help us make vaccinations accessible to the public. DCCF and Douglas County Public Health want to partner with you!
Here’s how to participate:
1. Schedule a Kansas Beats the Virus one-hour call with at least 5 people from your organization. During this call, you will act as a convener for your team, and with the help of a KLC facilitator your team will come up with an Action Plan to help incentivize attendees at your event to get a vaccine.
To schedule the call, contact Heather Hoy (heatherhoy@dccfoundation.org) with the names and email addresses of your team, and Heather will give you available time slots for your meeting. We ask that all action plans allow for a mobile vaccine clinic to be present at your event.
2. After your action plan is complete and your budget has been prepared and submitted to DCCF, DCCF staff will contact you to let you know if you qualify for a grant or sponsorship and the approved use of the funding.
3. A grant or sponsorship check will be issued by DCCF.
4. Upon the conclusion of your event, you will be required to report your results to DCCF by August 31, 2021. A link for the grant report form will be sent to the event convener. The report will include itemization of the fund use.
Please be innovative and creative with your team! Some ideas you may consider (but are not limited to!*):
• Gift cards for attendees who get vaccinated at your event – buy the gift cards from local businesses and keep the funds in our community!
• Hire a DJ to come to your event to make it more exciting!
*There are exceptions to what can be funded, but your KLC facilitators will help keep your plans in line with the goals of getting us to 70% in 70 days!
